Birmingham is located in England’s West Midlands. With 1,028,700 inhabitants it is the most populous city in Britain after London. In recent years Birmingham has been undergoing redevelopment as part of the Big City Plan, which includes demolition and renovation programmes, Birmingham signed the Covenant of Mayors in 2009 and submitted their Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP) in 2011, and the city promises to continue progressing as a partner in the CASCADE project.
