Amsterdam is presenting how it has participated in CASCADE project together with its Energy Atlas, during a seminar on 17 April 2014.
The Energy Atlas provides decision makers and local stakeholders with all the necessary information to develop robust and effective energy policies and projects. It combines spatial and social data about an urban area together with information on its current energy consumption patterns and its local energy production potential. It presents this information in the form of easy-to-read maps.
The participants will gain more knowledge on how to develop and use an Energy Atlas, and how to use (open) data as a basis for developing effective local sustainable energy strategies. Moreover, they will learn more about the CASCADE peer-to-peer methodology and how Amsterdam has used it both to share experience with other European cities and help other Dutch cities to develop their own Energy Atlas.
